Titusville, PA Adopts City Flag Designed by Elementary School Student

NOVEMBER 9, 2024 — Titusville, Pennsylvania has adopted its first official city flag, with a design created by an elementary school student, chosen from over 180 submissions in a student-led design contest, The Derrick reports.

Titusville City Council unanimously approved the city’s new flag on Wednesday, a design crafted by local elementary school student Max Prugh.

Inspired by a student’s admiration for the neighboring city of Franklin’s flag, Titusville launched a contest for young designers, partnering with the Titusville Area School District. Open to kindergarten through fifth-grade students, the contest encouraged kids to submit designs to represent their community.
