NOVEMBER 15, 2024 — In Maashorst, Netherlands Mayor Hans van der Pas unveiled the design for the municipality’s new flag, DTV Nieuws reports.
The municipality of Maashorst was established on January 1, 2022, following the merger of the municipalities of Landerd and Uden.
The flag’s design reflects this history by incorporating elements from the flags of both former municipalities, such as their colors and heraldic features.
Alongside the flag design, the municipal executive has also adopted a new flag protocol. This document outlines regulations regarding the occasions and locations for hoisting the municipal flag, as well as other flags such as the Dutch and European flags, or local carnival flags.
The design was shown digitally – the flag itself has not yet been produced, as it still awaits approval from the municipal council. Only after their vote will the flag be manufactured and officially raised. Once approved, the new flag will be displayed at City Hall during special events.
