NOVEMBER 21, 2024 — Media Naranja, a town in Córdoba, Argentina, unveiled its new flag on November 20 at a ceremony held in the Civic Center, reports Córdoba Interior Informa.
The chosen design, created by 18-year-old programming student and resident Ana Luz Nieto, emerged victorious from 54 submissions after a multi-round evaluation process.
Chief Juan Carbello described the flag as the “soul of our town,” capturing its collective strength, faith, and industrious spirit.
The flag consists of three horizontal stripes and a central sun. The orange upper stripe represents the town’s vitality, creativity, and agricultural heritage, including crops like cotton, olives, garlic, and tomatoes. The white middle stripe symbolizes peace, unity, and the town’s spiritual centerpiece, the historic Church of the Virgin of Luján, established in 1923. The light blue lower stripe honors the Cruz del Eje River, the protective sky, and the pride of Córdoba and Argentina.
