DECEMBER 18, 2024 — Russia’s Karpyinsk has officially adopted modifications to its coat of arms following a change in its administrative status from an urban district to a municipal district, Vecherniy Karpinsk reports.
The decision was made during the most recent session of the City Duma.
According to the City Territorial Election Commission’s official website, the updated coat of arms will feature a new “golden mural crown” to reflect Karpyinsk’s revised status under heraldic rules.
The new symbols will take effect on January 1, 2025, and will appear on all official materials, seals, and documents.
The full heraldic description of the coat of arms states: “In a silver field, a blue eagle with golden eyes and a halo, holding in its claws a scroll unfurled across the field and ending in floral tips, accompanied below by a black stone filled with gold, lying atop two black crossed picks.”
Karpyinsk’s flag is a white field featuring the same elements displayed on the city’s coat of arms. It does not feature the crown, so its design is unlikely to change.
The design of both symbols was originally approved in 2004.
