Ulyanovsk Oblast Celebrates Regional Coat of Arms and Flag Day

DECEMBER 22, 2024 — Governor Aleksey Russkikh marked the celebration of Regional Coat of Arms and Flag Day today on December 22 with a public address to the residents of Ulyanovsk Oblast in Russia, reports Ulpravda.

In his congratulatory message, Russkikh said, “Dear friends, accept my heartfelt congratulations on this regional holiday. Thanks to your labor, talent, and dedication, our region grows stronger and more prosperous. I express my gratitude to all who preserve and multiply the glory of our homeland. May these symbols inspire us to new achievements and unite us in making Ulyanovsk Oblast even more flourishing and comfortable for life. I wish you health, happiness, and success in all your endeavors.”

The current coat of arms of Ulyanovsk Oblast, adopted by the Legislative Assembly on February 26, 2004, incorporates elements of the historical coat of arms of Simbirsk Governorate, approved on July 5, 1878.

According to the Russian Presidential Library, the flag itself was adopted on December 26, 2013.
