Panama Canal Museum Unveils New “Gallery of Flags” Exhibit

JANUARY 8, 2025 — The Panama Canal Museum will inaugurate its new permanent exhibition, “Gallery of Flags” tomorrow on January 9, in commemoration of the patriotic events of January 1964, Metro Libre reports.

The “Gallery of Flags” features a unique collection of historical flags and related artifacts, offering visitors an immersive experience into key moments of Panama’s fight for sovereignty. Through informative panels, rare photographs, and personal items, the exhibit highlights the evolving role of the Panamanian flag as an emblem of protest and hope.

According to La Web de la Salud, Ana Elizabeth González, the museum’s executive director and chief curator, described the gallery as “more than an exhibition; it is a space for reflection on our history and a source of pride in our national identity.”

In celebration of the gallery’s opening, the museum will host an open house on January 9, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission will be free.
