JANUARY 13, 2025 — In Connecticut, a Darien High School senior is spearheading an initiative to redesign the town flag and is seeking community feedback on several proposed designs, reports Patch.
Harris Cavanna, the student behind the effort, first approached First Selectman Jon Zagrodzky last year with the idea to update the current flag, which features a white background with the town’s logo at its center.
Cavanna’s initiative gained momentum after extensive discussions with Zagrodzky and collaboration with a graphic artist to create multiple design options.
According to Hamlet Hub, in November, Cavanna presented the potential designs to the Board of Selectmen, who encouraged him to seek broader community input.
Following their advice, he launched a public survey inviting residents to rate each of the nine proposed designs, including the existing one, on a scale from one to ten.
The survey is open until January 31, and Cavanna is urging residents to participate.
“We would really appreciate any input beyond the survey,” Cavanna stated.
The survey can be accessed here.
