FEBRUARY 18, 2025 — The local government of Cayastá in Argentina has launched a contest inviting residents to design a district flag that represents the town’s identity, according to a press release yesterday.
The competition, titled “A Flag for Cayastá,” is part of the municipality’s 158th-anniversary celebrations and will run from February 17 to March 14, 2025.
Residents aged 10 and older are eligible to participate, either individually or in teams of up to four.
Entries must reflect Cayastá’s history, culture, geography, and traditions while adhering to specific design guidelines. The flag must be rectangular, simple, and easy to recognize, with a maximum of four colors. Recommended colors include green (nature and hope), blue (justice and loyalty), white (peace and kindness), and yellow (joy and optimism). Political, religious, or unrelated symbols are prohibited.
A jury will review the entries and announce the winning design on March 21, 2025.
The selected flag will then be presented to the municipal commission for approval.
