MARCH 5, 2025 — A meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, was held to discuss the respect and usage of the Islamic Emirate’s official flag in public spaces and vehicles today, according to the Bakhtar News Agency.
The discussion focused on ensuring proper awareness regarding the preservation and display of the flag, which bears the kalima tayyiba (Islamic creed, also known as the Shahada).
Azizi emphasized the religious and symbolic significance of the flag, stating, “The inscription of the kalima tayyiba (‘There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’) is a defining feature of the Islamic Emirate’s official flag, representing the religious and jihadist dignity of the country and the Islamic system.”
He stressed the need for the flag to be placed in locations where its sanctity and respect can be maintained.
To implement these considerations, Azizi highlighted the necessity of nationwide public awareness efforts. Following discussions among committee members, a working group was assigned to develop a detailed plan on ensuring respect for the flag and its inscription while also exploring alternative approaches. The findings will be presented in a future session.
