St. Louis County Unveils New Flag

MARCH 11, 2025 — St. Louis County in Missouri has introduced a new flag today, says the St. Louis Magazine.

County Executive Sam Page revealed the design during his State of the County address today at the Touhill Center, where he also highlighted the work of county employees.

The new flag was designed by artists José Garza and Hayveyah McGowan, both in residence at the Kranzberg Arts Foundation. The design features a modern interpretation of the fleur-de-lis on a deep navy background, accented with crisp white and hot pink.

“The process took the better part of the year, and the common themes we heard from residents [were] that they wanted to see something that incorporates nature and unity while being contemporary, timeless and pointing to the future,” Page explained.

The design process involved extensive community feedback through town halls. The fleur-de-lis, traditionally a symbol of French heritage, has been reimagined to point forward, symbolizing progress and unity.

The color palette of navy, white, and rose red is intended to reflect the county’s history while presenting a fresh, modern look, according to First Alert 4.
