MARCH 24, 2025 — The Council of Novousadebskoye Rural Settlement in Russia has officially approved a new flag design on February 29.
The flag presents a rectangular green field with a ratio of width to length of 2:3. It incorporates symbolic elements drawn from the settlement’s coat of arms. These include ornate gates, a rooster perched atop them, and a tub of grain, all rendered in yellow.
The reverse side of the flag mirrors the front design.
According to the designers, the flag’s imagery embodies various aspects of Novousadebskoye’s identity. The gates serve as a central symbol, representing strength, protection, and hospitality. Their decorative features highlight the craftsmanship and diligence of the local residents, who are portrayed as attentive and skilled caretakers of their homes and land. The open gates signify welcome and peace, while the rooster, positioned as if greeting the dawn, symbolizes a fresh start, bravery, and watchfulness.
The tub of grain represents the community’s agricultural roots and the importance of preserving the harvest. The green background symbolizes the rich natural surroundings, abundant with forests, mushrooms, berries, and cranberries from local wetlands. This reflects the region’s strong ties to nature and its reliance on sustainable rural practices.
The color palette of green and gold further enhances the symbolic narrative. Green is traditionally associated with agriculture, vitality, and hope, while gold denotes wealth, generosity, and the abundance of the land.
