Aley District Flag Registered in Russia’s Heraldic Registry

APRIL 5, 2025 — A new municipal flag for Aley District in Altai Krai, Russia, has been officially registered in the State Heraldic Register under entry number 15207.

The rectangular, double-sided flag reflects the key elements of the district’s coat of arms using red, blue, and yellow.

According to its official description, the banner has a proportion of 2:3 and reproduces symbols taken directly from the heraldic emblem of Aley District.

The sun represents warmth, energy, light, and life, highlighting the district’s southern location within Altai Krai. The division of the flag’s field into red and blue is intended as an allegory for alternating agricultural fields and bodies of water, reflecting the natural environment of the region.

The color palette carries additional meaning. Yellow, or gold, symbolizes value, prosperity, and harvest. Blue, or azure, signifies honor, spiritual aspiration, and nobility. Red is used to denote labor, courage, and vitality.

The flag was approved by the Aley District Council of Deputies on July 4, 2024, by decision No. 18. The flag was later added to the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation on February 18, 2025.

The flag was designed by a group led by Sergei Ivanovich Chekov from Barnaul.
