AUGUST 9, 2025 — The city of Villa María in Argentina has launched an engaging participatory process for choosing its new official flag, according to Villa María VIVO.

As part of the program “Villa María se Convierte en Bandera,” the municipality, through its Secretariats of Human and Territory Development and Government, Culture, and Institutional Relations, has opened the public voting on the proposed flag designs.

Currently, 28 finalist flag designs are available for viewing on the Villa María Digital platform (VIDI). Residents can not only see each design but also learn about the meaning behind the colours, details, and symbolism incorporated by the creators.

The voting process, which began on August 4, will remain open until Monday, August 11.

The final choice will be made by a panel of experts, who will consider the colours, design, and details of the most voted-for flags after public voting closes

Residents are encouraged to participate before the voting deadline to have their voice heard in this historic decision.
