OCTOBER 8, 2025 — In the town of Humberto Primo, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, a milestone celebration yesterday honoured the community’s 141 years since its founding and unveiled the town’s first official flag, says the Diario Castellanos.
The winning design is the result of a civic design competition titled “Una bandera para mi pueblo” held earlier this year to create a lasting emblem of local identity.
The winning design, created by María Noel Giorgis, was selected unanimously by a jury composed of prominent community figures, artists and ceremonial experts. Officially adopted through a communal ordinance, the flag is now recognized as a permanent symbol of unity alongside the National, Provincial and Departmental flags.
Three vertical stripes, dark blue, light blue, and brown, represent the town’s sky, water and fertile land. A central circle in gold and green evokes both its agricultural production and hope for the future. The Monument to the Centenary anchors the design as a representation of historical continuity, while sixteen white stars express the shared values of the community: work, memory, education, solidarity, identity, respect, production, freedom, justice, care, family, progress, youth, hope, future and commitment.
The presentation ceremony included the symbolic gifting of flags to local schools, jury members and the artist herself.
