OCTOBER 8, 2025 — The City of Riverbank, California is calling on local creativity with the launch of its official Flag Design Contest, giving residents aged 10 and older the chance to make their mark on the city’s visual identity.
Open from October 1 until December 1, the initiative invites participants to design a flag that captures Riverbank’s history, culture, landscape, and community values, according to the City website.
Entries must follow key design principles: Keeping the flag simple, symbolic, and bold, using two to three strong colours without gradients, text, or seals. Designs must be original, reflecting Riverbank’s unique spirit through clear imagery that can be easily reproduced and recognized.
Judging will focus on simplicity, symbolism, city identity, and adherence to established flag design principles. Finalists will be celebrated publicly, with the top designer receiving a $250 cash prize.
