OCTOBER 10, 2025 — Today marks the opening of NAVA 59, the annual convention of the North American Vexillological Association, celebrated this year in Seattle, Washington, from October 10 to 12, 2025.
This milestone event welcomes flag enthusiasts and scholars from across North America to the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown for three days of in-depth presentations, hands-on activities, and community-building.
The convention is marked by the official NAVA 59 flag, which draws inspiration from Seattle’s iconic geography and the rich flag traditions of the Pacific Northwest, featuring the Space Needle against a teal and green landscape.
The design was finalized through collaboration between Max Bierden, Xander Peachey, the flag selection committee chaired by Brian Cham, and input from the flag design community.
A highlight of tomorrow will include a group tour of the Museum of History and Industry, granting participants a rare, up-close look at historic flags from museum collections. Special meals, including the Whitney Smith Dinner and keynote address, as well as optional group dinners at local restaurants.
