NOVEMBER 29, 2025 — In Argentina, authorities in Paso Viejo unveiled the winning design for the community’s future flag, selecting a proposal submitted by staff from the local sub-police station on Wednesday, says the Córdoba Interior Informa.
The official presentation of the selected design took place on November 28.
The design, which community president Mauro Tapia indicated was chosen by a jury, is structured with three horizontal stripes of colour: light blue, white, and brown, with a central motif depicting a moon placed across them, according to details of the design shared on Facebook.
The light blue upper stripe symbolizes the Pichanas dam and the waters that provide life to the town, embodying vital energy, development, and sustenance for the community’s agricultural activities. It is also described as a reflection of the open sky characteristic of the region.
The white central stripe alludes to cotton production, which is one of the zone’s most representative crops and the namesake of the local festival. Furthermore, the colour white represents purity, work, and progress, values that distinguish the families who forged the town’s growth through effort and cooperation.
The brown lower stripe represents the fertile soil that supports agriculture, the extensive open fields, and the profound connection between the inhabitants and their natural environment. It symbolizes the roots and history of rural work, which form the basis of the economy and local identity.
The Moon, centrally located, is said to personify ancestral wisdom and the link to natural cycles. It evokes the traditional planting and harvesting practices, guided by the moon since the time of the original and colonial communities, recalling respect for the earth and its seasons.
