DECEMBER 6, 2025 — The Bulgarian village of Gradnitsa, located in the municipality of Sevlievo, has officially adopted its own distinct coat of arms and flag, according to a Facebook post by the Bulgarian Heraldry and Vexillology Society. The new symbols were instituted by order of Mayor Ali Saliev on November 20.
The motto on the scroll of Gradnitsa’s coat of arms, written in Bulgarian Cyrillic as “ПОМНИМ ГРАДИМ РАСТЕМ,” translates to “We Remember, We Build, We Grow” in English.
The symbols; creator is Nikolay Vutkov. In the Facebook post, the Bulgarian Heraldry and Vexillology Society noted the efforts of Vutkov and Ivan Kamburov, who was acknowledged for his “initiative and support.”
