JANUARY 1, 2026 — The President of the Republic of Moldova has formally registered three new territorial symbols for the Criuleni district, cementing the official status of flags for the Miclești commune and its constituent villages.
The decree, issued on December 26, follows the approval of the symbols by the Miclești Communal Council and brings new official emblems to the commune of Miclești and the villages of Miclești and Stețcani.
The flag for Miclești commune is described as a square banner, vertically divided into yellow and green halves. At its centre is a tree that is split equally into a black pine and an acacia tree.
Within the commune, the two villages each received their own distinct flag designs. The flag for Miclești village is a square green field containing a white pine tree. Superimposed over the crown of the tree is a triangular heraldic escutcheon bearing the arms of the Donici family. This smaller shield features a white inverted sword with a yellow hilt on a red field, flanked by two addorsed yellow crescents.
The village of Stețcani adopted a flag that also uses a green square cloth as its base. Its design is dominated by a garland of acacia branches with white flowers and yellow leaves positioned in the centre. Enclosed and partially surrounded by this wreath is a large downward-pointing flower.
