MARCH 15, 2026 — Saudi Arabia observed its annual Flag Day on March 11, an occasion established by royal decree in 2023 to honour the specific design of the national ensign approved by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud in 1937, according to the Saudi Gazette.
This year’s commemorations involved significant urban visual displays, with authorities in regions like Tabuk and Jazan hoisting thousands of flags across public squares and bridges, says Arab News.
In Riyadh, the King Abdulaziz Public Library launched an exhibition titled “In Love with Green,” featuring twenty paintings curated by the Saudi Art Association that interpret the flag through various contemporary and cultural lenses.
Simultaneously, according to the Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Post released commemorative three-riyal stamps in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture to mark the event.
