Spain: Talayuela Approves New Official Flag Design

APRIL 12, 2026 — The municipal council of Talayuela, located in the province of Cáceres, Spain, has unanimously approved the design of their first official flag, says El Periódico Extremadura.

This decision follows several months of consultation with vexillological experts and the official local chronicler, Antonio Luis.

On the flag, the green sections are intended to symbolize the region’s agricultural fertility and natural vegetation, which are central to the local economy of the Campo Arañuelo area. The white sections are described as a representation of community unity and social cohesion.

Centred upon the flag is the existing municipal coat of arms.

While the municipal council has given its approval, the flag must still undergo a formal provincial administrative process before it is officially ratified.
