APRIL 21, 2026 — The municipal government of Libertador San Martín, located in the Entre Ríos province of Argentina, has formally invited its residents to participate in the creation of an official flag for the community, reports PARALELO 32.
Priscila Bernhardt, the department’s coordinator, said a flag is “an element the city has yet to achieve”.
To ensure the technical quality of the entries, the municipality has implemented a mandatory educational component for all prospective designers.
Participants are required to attend a vexillology seminar on May 14 that will be conducted by Dr. Maia Rodríguez, the Director General of Museums and Cultural Heritage for Entre Ríos.
While the training is a prerequisite for contestants, it remains open to the general public to foster broader interest in vexillographic standards.
The competition is restricted to residents who have lived in the city for at least five years. Submissions, which may be produced digitally or on physical cardstock, must be delivered by June 19 using a double-envelope system to maintain anonymity during the initial review.
A designated jury is scheduled to deliberate on June 28, the same day all proposed designs will be featured in a public exhibition. The jury will select three finalists from the entries.
Bernhardt indicated that the municipal goal is to have the winning design manufactured and officially inaugurated during the city’s upcoming anniversary celebrations. “It would be beautiful to have many flag models, so we invite people to participate,” the official remarked.
