JUNE 15, 2026 — The city of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, is considering the adoption of a new flag to replace its current design, says the Sun Post, marking a further step in the city’s ongoing rebranding efforts.
The existing flag, which features a yellow field with white text and a blue bird with blue feathers, may soon be replaced by a newly proposed design created by City Communications Coordinator Rachel Leen.
The proposed flag design features a blue field adorned with white feathers and yellow shading. It incorporates a white circle enclosing a blue bird, accompanied by the text “City of Robbinsdale” and the year “1823” in a blue font.
According to Leen, the new design is intended to improve legibility and integrate the official municipal logo, which has been gradually implemented across various platforms since a brand refresh in 2024.
“Before, there was kind of some low-quality logos; we had various colors across the city, various templates being used. So really the intent of that was really to bring everything together and make it more cohesive and aligned across the city,” Leen said.
While digital assets, official documents, and the municipal website were transitioned to the new logo immediately following the 2024 refresh, city staff elected to retain physical assets, including the current flag, until they required replacement due to wear.
“We didn’t want to replace good items that could last for a couple more years just to rebrand them,” Leen explained.
According to municipal accounts, the proposed flag design received positive feedback from elected officials and community members during its presentation.
The city has not yet announced a formal timeline for the official adoption or production of the new flag.
