JUNE 15, 2026 — In Ohio, the Muskingum County Board of Commissioners has officially adopted a new county flag, concluding a public redesign contest initiated earlier this year, according to AVC News.
The competition, which closed for entries in May, drew more than 40 submissions from local residents.
According to county officials, the winning design was submitted by an anonymous contributor, whose work will now serve as the official visual identity at county buildings, civic events, and community celebrations.
The push to replace the previous flag began in January after local digital media graduate Camren Zimmerman presented two modernized design concepts to the board.
However, the board ultimately selected an anonymous submission rather than Zimmerman’s exact prototypes.
Muskingum County’s previous banner, adopted in 2002, was designed by artist Roger Penos in collaboration with residents of the Muskingum County Home.
