AUGUST 2, 2026 — The Argentine town of Casa Grande, located in the Punilla Department of Córdoba Province, has officially selected the winning design for its new communal flag, says La Estafeta Online.
Chosen as part of the “Nuestra Bandera” (Our Flag) program organized by the Provincial Legislature of Córdoba, the project evaluated 18 local entries submitted by residents and local institutions.
The selection process was coordinated by Silvina González, head of the provincial flag initiative, with a jury panel led by Casa Grande Communal President Miguel Moreno alongside representatives from local community institutions.
The selected flag was created collaboratively by local teachers María Paula Boglione and María Eugenia Ortega, together with their teenage children, Fidel Cabello and Uma Moreno Ortega, under the pseudonym “Centro y Cabezazo.”
The design features an upper blue field representing the sky and local water resources, and a lower green field symbolizing the native forest and surrounding hills.
A diagonal white stripe with wavy edges separates the two main sections to portray the local river. At the centre of the flag sits a circular emblem depicting a rising sun over green mountains and a blue stream, elements intended to represent the area’s natural environment and indigenous Comechingón heritage.
