AUGUST 16, 2026 — The City of Tangent, Oregon, has initiated a public competition to select an official flag, according to the City website.
The city government plans to accept design applications from the public throughout September and October.
In November, a newly formed five-member Tangent Flag Design Committee, assisted by liaisons from the City Council and the North American Vexillological Association, will meet to review the submissions and select finalist designs.
These chosen entries will then be submitted to residents for consideration during a public town hall meeting, where community members can vote on their preferred choice.
The City Council currently aims to formally adopt the winning flag design by January.
