AUGUST 29, 2026 — The government of Nolensville, Tennessee, has initiated a public contest to establish its first official municipal flag as part of events marking the 30th anniversary of the town’s incorporation, says the Williamson County Source.
Open exclusively to local residents of all ages, the initiative accepts submissions until August 31. The municipal board established specific design parameters for all prospective symbols, requiring proposals to fit a standard 3:5 aspect ratio and integrate or draw explicit inspiration from the existing municipal logo.
Submissions must also incorporate the town’s established colour palette, which comprises a primary shade of olive green along with secondary tones of beige, lighter green, and gold. Authors of entries are required to provide a written explanation detailing the vexillological symbolism and heritage represented in their proposed artwork, while agreeing to surrender all intellectual property rights and financial remuneration to the municipality.
The Board of Commissioners plans to evaluate submissions starting August 31 and will cast a final vote to select the winning graphic during its public meeting on September 3, 2026. Official unveiling of the adopted design is scheduled for October 3, during the town’s Founders Day commemoration, where a physical replica of the civic emblem will be sealed inside a municipal time capsule.
