New City Flag Adopted for Stanton, Kentucky

SEPTEMBER 13, 2026 — City officials in Stanton, Kentucky, have officially unveiled a newly adopted city flag following the conclusion of a design competition, according to local media WKYT.

The winning flag proposal was submitted by local resident Megan Burgher, whose entry was selected by civic leaders to serve as a updated visual representative for the community.

On Facebook, city authorities released statement literature indicating that the chosen design was intended to symbolize the natural landscape, regional heritage, and local spirituality of both the city proper and the broader surrounding area of Powell County.

The public introduction of the civic emblem was accompanied by comments from Mayor Willie Means and the members of the Stanton City Council, who formally commended the competition winner and confirmed that the physical flag would make its inaugural public appearance featured upon the official city float during the upcoming local Fair Day parade scheduled for September 18.
